Resorts on Mayaguana

Mayaguana is the most easterly island of the Bahamas with an area of about 110 square miles. The island which is about 300 miles south of New Providence Island is home to about 350 inhabitants who live in three settlements and because of its remoteness Mayaguana is in first place favoured by nature lovers, adventurers and cruisers. However, the island is also famous for being home to hutia, a cross between a rabbit and a rat that was believed to be extinct until the 1960's.

- Baycaner Beach Resort is a 3-star resort and the only resort on Mayaguana Island. Thus all who planning to visit Mayaguara will not be able to avoid staying at this small and charming resort. However, resort's special approach to its guests and lesser commercialization of the island offer an unique experience.

The resort consists of sixteen cozy and comfortable rooms which feature air conditioning, private bath and satellite TV, while you will be able to enjoy island's dishes in resort's restaurant and have a drink or two at resort's bar.

However, the Mayaguana and Bayacaner Beach Resort might not be appropriate for everyone. All who likes to party in clubs or try their luck at a casino should reconsider before booking at Bayacaner Beach Resort. However, the island and resort are perfect choice for everyone who wants to avoid crowds and simply enjoy their vacations or honeymoon at this amazing place.
