Resorts on San Salvador Island

San Salvador Island also known ad Watling Island (after John Watling) was probably the first land sighted and visited by Christopher Columbus when he discovered the New World in 1492. The island is one among less commercialized islands of Bahamas and is in first place favoured by divers, adventurers and fishermen. There are only two resorts on San Salvador Island:

- Club Med-Columbus Isle is a 5-star resort with very good reviews. The resort is situated on 80 acres of beach front 2 miles north of Cockburn Town. The resort offers 236 luxurious rooms featuring custom designed furniture and very nice decoration. Resort's white-sand beach and turquoise water are breath-taking and provide perfect relaxation and enjoyment. However, the resort also offers variety of activities such as scuba diving, snorkeling, surfing, sailing, waterskiing etc., while there is also taken care for entertainment and amusement at night. Club Med-Columbus Isle is a great vacation destination for all except for families with small children.

- Riding Rock Inn Resort & Marina in a 3-star resort which is very popular among divers. The resort which in average has very good reviews is offering 24 standard air-conditioned rooms and 18 deluxe oceanfront rooms, while besides accommodation the resort also offers freshwater swimming pool, tennis court, marina, dive center, car and bicycle rentals. Ridding Rock Inn Resort & Marina and San Salvador Island are great vacation destination for all who like to have some peace and to relax on their vacations as well as for those who like scuba diving.
